The brake liquid is among aggressive chemical compounds and at contact with кузовными panels destroys a paint and varnish covering. Before to start procedure performance cover wings and the panel передка the car with special covers, or simply old blankets.


The hydraulic modulator (HCU) is located in an impellent compartment of the car and includes in the structure a set of electromagnetic valves and the electric pump (with the built in motor). The pump provides necessary lifting of pressure in hydraulic system. The modulator is not subject to regenerative repair and in default should be replaced in gathering.

Models Diamante

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of assemblage of the hydraulic modulator on models Diamante are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

3. Remove the bottom antispray screen of an impellent compartment.
4. By means of a syringe or a rubber pear pump out from tank GTTS as much as possible a hydraulic liquid.
5. Remove and, not disconnecting electroconducting, shift aside the assembly block of the relay.
6. Remove an air inlet sleeve.
7. Preliminary having marked, disconnect from the hydraulic modulator brake lines, - prepare for gathering of a spilt liquid. At once закупорьте the open ends of tubes in order to avoid hit in dirt and moisture system.

At отпускании штуцерных nuts the assembly block of the relay should be taken away as it is possible further aside.

8. Disconnect from the hydraulic modulator electroconducting.
9. Disconnect from the chassis the tyre of grounding of the modulator.
10. Turn out three fixing bolts and remove the modulator in gathering with a basic arm.

The modulator has considerable weight and at the given stage it will be reasonable to take advantage of the help of the assistant. Establish the removed assemblage on a workbench in vertical position. Do not subject the modulator to shock loadings!

11. Ослабьте a fixing nut also remove from modulator assemblage a basic arm.
12. Disconnect from an arm the grounding tyre.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If removed, establish on assemblage of the hydraulic modulator a basic arm.
2. Connect to an arm the grounding tyre.
3. Establish modulator assemblage on the regular place, - try to hold all time it vertically.
4. Screw fixing nuts and strongly them tighten.
5. Connect to the modulator electroconducting.
6. Freely connect hydraulic lines to the unions on modulator assemblage (pay attention to the marks put in the course of dismantle). Tighten штуцерные sockets of each line with demanded effort (15 H•м).
7. Fill in in the tank a fresh brake liquid, having finished its level to mark MAX.
8. Pump over a brake path (at first ГТЦ, then serially each of contours, - the Section Prorolling of brake system see).
9. Establish into place the assembly block of the relay and an air inlet sleeve.
10. Establish antispray screens.


Models Galant and Mirage

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of assemblage of the hydraulic modulator on models Galant and Mirage are presented on illustrations.
2. By means of a syringe or a rubber pear pump out from tank GTTS as much as possible a hydraulic liquid.
3. Remove локер protection of an arch of the left forward wheel.
4. Remove a broad tank of system of cooling (see the Head of System of cooling and heating).
5. Remove a basic arm of a broad tank.
6. Remove established under assemblage of the hydraulic modulator the dustproof screen.
7. Preliminary having marked, disconnect from HCU hydraulic hoses and tubes. At once закупорьте the open ends of lines in order to avoid hit in dirt and moisture system.
8. Remove a cover from the assembly block of the relay and disconnect electroconducting from modulator assemblage.
9. Turn out bolts of fastening of three basic arms, lower assemblage HCU downwards and remove it from the car.

The modulator has considerable weight and at the given stage it will be reasonable to take advantage of the help of the assistant. Establish the removed assemblage on a workbench in vertical position. Do not subject the modulator to shock loadings!

10. In case of need dismantle from assemblage of the modulator of the relay and basic arms.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If removed, establish on assemblage of the hydraulic modulator basic arms and the relay. Tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort (22 H•м).
2. Establish HCU on the regular place, - try to hold all time assemblage vertically.
3. Screw fixing bolts and them tighten them with demanded effort (22 H•м).
4. Connect to the modulator electroconducting.
5. Establish a cover on the assembly block of the relay.
6. Connect hydraulic lines to the unions on modulator assemblage (pay attention to the marks put in the course of dismantle). Tighten штуцерные sockets of each line with demanded effort (13 H•м).
7. Fill in in the tank a fresh brake liquid, having finished its level to mark MAX.
8. Pump over brake system (the Section Prorolling of brake system see).
9. Establish into place the dustproof screen and a broad tank of system of cooling with the arm.
10. Establish локер protection of a wheel arch.
11. Include ignition and make sure of serviceability of operation of control lamp ABS on the panel of devices.
12. Spend car trial runs.
