Brake system

The general information

All models of cars considered in the present Management are equipped by hydraulic brake system with vacuum strengthening. On forward wheels disk brake mechanisms, on back - both disk, and drum-type are always established.
All brake mechanisms are equipped by self-regulators. Thus indemnification of deterioration brake колодок disk mechanisms is carried out automatically whereas, on drum-type mechanisms the special adjusting devices which activation occurs at raising of a lay brake are established.

The main brake cylinder (ГТЦ) is established on assemblage of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of the brakes, fixed on a back partition of an impellent compartment. From above on the cylinder the big tank of a hydraulic liquid equipped with a plastic cover is located.

ГТЦ has the dual design providing functioning of two independent hydraulic contours (forward and back). Pressure of a liquid in each of contours is forced by the individual piston in separate chambers of the main cylinder. As primary piston GTTS directly (through a metal rod) is connected to a pedal of a foot brake moving of last inevitably conducts to increase of hydraulic pressure in brake lines. Instant increase of pressure in lines leads to moving of pistons to supports / wheel cylinders of brake mechanisms, and the size of effort developed by last increases proportionally to an increment of the area of their pistons concerning the area of pistons GTTS.

Wheel cylinders of drum-type brake mechanisms are equipped by two pistons which are pushed out in opposite directions and brake boots providing a clip to a working surface of a drum. In disk mechanisms cylinders are built in assemblages of supports and provide possibility сжимания a brake disk between two frictional колодками.

Brake kolodki/boots, and also pistons GTTS are equipped by returnable springs that guarantees system transition in an initial condition at отпускании pedals of a foot brake.

Tightness of planting of pistons in cylinders is provided at the expense of use of rubber sealing cuffs, for protection of cylinders against a dirt and a moisture are provided special пыльники.

The main brake cylinder

In the main brake cylinders of two-planimetric brake systems two pistons established directly one after another are used. The primary piston by means of a metal rod is directly connected to a brake pedal. The drive of the secondary piston is carried out by hydraulic image at the expense of the prisoner between pistons of volume of a liquid. At formation of leaks ahead of the secondary piston, last is displaced forward against the stop in a face wall of the cylinder and the liquid being between pistons gets only to a back brake contour of system. At occurrence of leaks in a back contour, the primary piston rests directly against an end face secondary, providing isolation of a defective site of a path.

Hydraulic path

In all dual brake systems possibility of the prevention of the driver about refusal of one of hydraulic contours is realised. The Gauge-switch is usually built in the case of the valve established on a back partition of an impellent compartment, or on a frame under assemblage ГТЦ. In the valve there is a piston simultaneously connected to both contours of a hydraulic path in such a manner that pressure developed in them is put to corresponding party of the piston. At serviceable contours of pressure in both contours are equal also the piston remains motionless. Any infringement of balance leads to displacement of the piston and gauge-switch short circuit in which chain the special control lamp is included established on an instrument guard of the car. Besides the gauge-switch the structure клапанной assemblages can include also the dosing out valve providing a delay of giving of pressure in a forward contour till the moment of the beginning of operation of drum-type brake mechanisms of back wheels that allows to avoid car braking by only one forward wheels.

The special valve-regulator allows to supervise pressure in wheel cylinders of back brake mechanisms, preventing thereby premature blocking of back wheels at sharp braking.

Check of serviceability of functioning of a control lamp can be carried out by squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake at the open gate of prorolling of one of brake mechanisms. In case of need replace a lamp, or check up serviceability of corresponding electroconducting and execute necessary regenerative repair.

The vacuum amplifier

Entering into a standard complete set of all models the special vacuum amplifier uses depression created in the inlet pipeline for increase of efficiency of functioning of a hydrodrive of brake system. The servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier is fixed on a back partition of an impellent compartment in the last.

System of antiblocking of brakes (ABS)

ABS prevents premature blocking of wheels of the car at sharp braking (the Section Replacement of the gauge-switch of stoplights see).

Lay brake

Тросовый the drive of a lay brake is brought to brake mechanisms of back wheels of the car. Приводные cables are brought to executive levers of assemblages of brake boots.


On termination of any of procedures of the service, connected with removal or dismantling any of components of brake system without fail check efficiency of functioning of brake system and only having made sure in full serviceability of its operation, start car operation. Trial runs should be made on a pure dry and equal road covering.

Check efficiency of braking of a vehicle on various speeds of movement and various efforts of squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake. The car should be braked in regular intervals, keeping thus course stability. Try not to suppose the premature blocking of wheels fraught with loss of the control over management.

Remember that to number of the factors affecting efficiency of braking of a vehicle, the condition and pressure of a rating of tyres, level of loading of the car and correctness of geometry of a suspension bracket concern.

Safety measures

At service of components of brake system of cars it is necessary to observe some special safety measures:

a) For refuelling of brake system use only a hydraulic liquid of class DOT 3;
b) Frictional overlays of brake kolodok/boots can contain unhealthy asbestos. Try not to inhale a brake dust, do not blow off its compressed air. To rubbing of components of brake mechanisms apply only special cleaning structures;
c) Watch observance of all demanded admissions and efforts of a tightening of fixture. At service of components use only the serviceable tool. At the slightest doubts address for the help to experts. Remember that serviceability of functioning of brakes is traffic safety pledge;
d) At the slightest signs of infringement of serviceability of functioning of brake system car operation should be suspended!
