Removal and installation of supports of disk brake mechanisms

Remember that developed in the course of work of brake mechanisms the dust can contain extremely unhealthy the person asbestos. At all do not blow off a dust the compressed air and do not inhale it, - at service of mechanisms put on a protective mask or a respirator. At all do not use for rubbing of components of brake system by gasoline or solvents on an oil basis, - apply only firm cleaners or methyl spirit!


Supports of both brake mechanisms of one axis should vary simultaneously. Remember that on firm car repair shops Mitsubishi always it is possible to order the restored assemblages of brake supports on an exchange basis.

Brake mechanisms of forward wheels

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Ослабьте nuts of fastening of forward wheels. Поддомкратьте redock of the car also establish it on props. Cock a lay brake/prop up противооткатными boots wheels standing on the earth.
2. Remove wheels.
3. For the purpose of prevention of excessive lowering of level of brake liquid ГТЦ remove a cover from the tank, cover a mouth with a polyethylene film and again screw a cover.
4. Details of installation of a support are shown on an illustration.
5. Disconnect a flexible brake hose at first from a metal line, then from a support (at отпускании накидных nuts use two keys - see Has undressed Removal and installation of brake lines).
6. Take directing and blocking fingers of a support.
7. Remove assemblage of a support with анкерной скобы.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If the removed support is subject to further use, carefully wash out it in a special cleaning liquid, - at all do not use for washing of components of the brake mechanism kerosene and other mineral oil! Attentively check up a support condition, in case of need make its replacement.
2. Establish a support on the regular place and tighten with demanded effort directing and blocking bolts.
3. Connect to a support a brake hose, - do not forget to replace sealing washers and track, that the hose has not appeared is overwound.
4. Pump over a corresponding brake contour (the Section Prorolling of brake system see).
5. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth. Before to start vehicle operation make sure of serviceability of functioning of brake system.


Brake mechanisms of back wheels

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Поддомкратьте the car also establish it on props.
3. Remove back wheels.
4. Release a lay brake.
5. Remove a clamp and disconnect приводной a cable of a lay brake from assemblage of the brake mechanism subject to service.
6. For the purpose of prevention of excessive lowering of level of brake liquid ГТЦ remove a cover from the tank, cover a mouth with a polyethylene film and again screw a cover.
7. Details of installation of a support are shown on an illustration.
8. On front-wheel models (FWD) turn out a hollow bolt штуцерного connections and disconnect a flexible hose from a support of the brake mechanism.
9. On all-wheel drive models (AWD) at first disconnect a brake hose from a metal line, then - from a support (at отпускании накидных nuts use two keys - see Has undressed Removal and installation of brake lines).
10. Take a blocking finger and remove a support with анкерной скобы.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On models FWD connect to a support a brake hose, - do not forget to replace sealing washers of a hollow bolt штуцерного connection. Fix a hose in a basic arm.
2. On models AWD connect a hose to a support and tighten накидную a nut with demanded effort (13 ÷ 17 H•м). Further fix a hose in a basic arm and connect it to a steel tube, - the demanded effort of a tightening накидной makes again nuts 13 ÷ 17 H•м.
3. Track, that the flexible brake hose has not appeared is overwound in the course of connection.
4. Establish a support on анкерную скобу the brake mechanism, having tracked for correctness of combination of a lock flute with a ledge колодки.
5. Preliminary having greased, screw a blocking finger and tighten it with demanded effort (32 H•м).
6. Pump over a corresponding contour of brake system (the Section Prorolling of brake system see).
7. Examine hydraulic lines on presence of signs of development of leaks.
8. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth. Before to start vehicle operation make sure of serviceability of functioning of brake system.


Models Diamante and Galant since 1994 вып.

Forward and back brake mechanisms

Whereas on the given models disk brake mechanisms of back wheels are not equipped by a drive of a lay brake, they do not differ on a design from lobbies and are considered together.


Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Поддомкратьте the car also establish it on props.
2. Remove a corresponding wheel.

3. Turn out a hollow bolt штуцерного a socket and disconnect a brake hose from a support. For hose fastening sockets with накидными nuts are used, take advantage of two keys and disconnect a hose at first from a metal line and only then - from a support. At once закупорьте the open end of a hydraulic line.

Try not to admit excessive lowering of level of a liquid in tank GTTS as it will cause necessity of prorolling of all brake path.

4. Turn out directing and blocking bolts of a support and remove last with анкерной скобы the brake mechanism.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Lower a support on анкерную скобу.
2. Screw directing and blocking bolts and tighten them with demanded effort (32 H•м).
3. Establish on a place/connect to a support a flexible brake hose (at a corresponding complete set do not forget to replace sealing washers of a hollow bolt штуцерного a socket). Track, that the hose has not appeared is overwound.
4. Pump over a corresponding contour of a hydraulic path (the Section Prorolling of brake system see).
5. Squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake and check up system on presence of signs of development of leaks.
6. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth. Tighten wheel nuts with demanded effort (120 ÷ 140 H•м).
7. Before to start vehicle operation make sure of serviceability of functioning of brake system.
