For a complete set of models considered in the present Management are used 4-step АТ series F3А20 (F3А21) and F4А20 (F4А22, F4А23, F4А33 and F4А51). All transmissions are equipped by the blocked converter of rotation. The converter provides direct coupling between the engine and car driving wheels. Transmissions can have electronic control, - in this case the onboard processor makes box switching on raising or lowering transfer, being based on the analysis of the information arriving from three electromagnetic blocks, established on the case клапанной assemblages.

In view of complexity of design АТ, absence on free sale of replaceable internal components, and also necessity of use of the special equipment, composers of the present Management do not recommend to owners of cars to carry out transmission major repairs by own forces. In the present Chapter procedures of diagnostics of general refusals АТ, its routine maintenance, the basic adjustments, removal and installation are considered only.

Sometimes, in case of serious breakage to replace transmission more reasonably and easier, than to waste time and means for restoration of the failed assemblage. Without dependence from the chosen way of introduction given up АТ in action, independent performance of its removal and installation expenses (before make sure, that transmission really requires regenerative repair) will help to cut down substantially.

Towage of the car with given up АТ should be made with a speed not above 50 km/h (30 miles/ch) and on distance no more than 80 km (50 miles)!


Design and functioning principle

Generally automatic transmission consists of the converter of rotation, distributing assemblage and differential. Transmission F3А21 represents 3-step АТ with a mechanical control. Series F4А20 differs a 4-step design and has electronic control.

The internal device of transmissions of both series practically equally. The main difference consists in use of raising 4th transfer on assemblages of series F4А20. Transmission consists of the 3-element converter of rotation with operating regulator (series F3А20), муфты converter couplings (series F4А20), one planetary assemblage, one brake tape and three (series F3А20) or four (series F4А20) multidisk муфт couplings.

Planetary assemblage of transfers consists of two planetary numbers. The structure of a distributing box includes a planetary number with frictional elements of management (blocking муфта and a brake). Work of all transmission the electronic block operates. Switching of high-speed modes is made by means of the car established in salon selector growling. The selector by means of a cable is connected with клапанной assemblage, and with its help it is possible to set a range of used transfers. Besides the selector in salon for the task of special modes of functioning of transmission it is provided one or several switches.

For prevention of breakages АТ at a wrong choice of a high-speed range, for example, moving from “D” in “R” on the selector lever the clamp is provided, - "dangerous" switchings can be carried out only at the pressed button of a clamp. Clamp application allows to avoid a situation when on imprudence one of ranges of movement and the car can be included will start to move uncontrolledly. The selector lever can be established in one of six fixed positions: “Р”, “R”, “D”, “N”, “2” and “L”, appointment of each of which is considered more low.

Position “Р”

Gets out at a car parking. In this position, in transmission all elements of management are switched off, and its target shaft is blocked, - car movement is impossible. To translate the selector in position “Р” follows only after a full stop of a vehicle.

Selector transfer in position “Р” during movement can lead to a transmission exit out of operation!


Position “R”

Backing. To translate the selector in a position “R” it is possible only after a full stop of a vehicle.

Inclusion of a reverse gear during car movement can lead to a transmission exit out of operation!


Position “N”

Neutral position. In a box all elements of management that provides absence of rigid kinematic communication between its conducting and conducted shaft are switched off. The mechanism of blocking of a target shaft is thus switched off, i.e. the car can freely move. It is not recommended to switch transmission in position “N” at movement накатом.

At all do not switch off ignition at movement under a bias!


Position “D”

The basic mode of movement. Provides automatic switching with the first on the fourth transfer. It is recommended at movement in normal conditions.

Position “3”

Movement on first three transfers is authorised. It is recommended to use at movement on hilly road or in the conditions of frequent stops (an intense city cycle).

Position “2”

14 movement only on the first and second transfers Is authorised. It is recommended to use, for example, on twisting mountain roads. Switching on the third and fourth transfers is forbidden. On this range the mode of braking is effectively used by the engine.

Position “L”

Movement only on the first transfer is authorised. This range allows to realise as much as possible a mode of braking by the engine. It is recommended at movement on abrupt descents, liftings and impassability.

Mode “OD” (transmissions of series F4А20)

The permission to use of the fourth, raising, transfers is carried out by means of special button "OD". If the button is in the drowned condition and the lever is established in position “D” switching on raising transfer is authorised. Otherwise inclusion of the fourth (raising) transfer is forbidden. The control system condition in this case is defined on a control lamp “O/D OFF”. In case of the permission of raising transfer the indicator does not burn, at an interdiction, - burns. The mode is used at movement with constant speed on direct sites of a highway. It is necessary to avoid use of mode OD in city conditions, especially in a winter season when braking by the engine gets the vital value. It is not necessary to include also a mode of raising transfer at full loading of the car.

Special programs (if are provided)

On cars with АТ it is put in pawn two control modes by a gear change: "economic" (NORMAL) and "sports" (POWER). The choice is carried out by means of the special switch which has been built in in the central console of the car.

Economic mode (NORMAL)

In the given mode the minimum expense of fuel takes place. Gear changes occur in the middle of corresponding ranges of the engine, character of movement of the car quiet, smooth.

Sports mode (POWER)

At inclusion of the given mode on the panel приоров the control lamp “ECT POWER” lights up. In the given mode there is a maximum selection of capacity of the engine, - box switching is made in the top border of corresponding ranges of turns of the engine. Приемистость the car, the fuel expense substantially increases, accordingly, increases.

Planetary transmission

Into structure of a planetary transmission enters three planetary numbers, three blocking муфты, four brakes and three муфты a free course.

Capacity from the engine through the hydrotransformer is transferred to an entrance shaft of a planetary transmission.

The gear change is carried out by inclusion of a certain combination of brakes and муфт a free course therefore frequency of rotation of a target shaft changes.

Blocking муфта a raising planetary number (С0) connects both solar drove also a solar wheel of a raising planetary number.

The brake of a raising planetary number (В0) stops a solar wheel of a raising planetary number.

Муфта № 1 free course (F1) at the included brake of the second transfer forbids rotation counter-clockwise solar gear wheels of forward and back planetary numbers.

Муфта a forward course (С1) connects an entrance shaft and эпицикл a forward planetary number.

The brake of the second transfer (В2) stops an external ring муфты a free course №1, forbidding that rotation of solar gear wheels of forward and back planetary numbers counter-clockwise.

The brake of 1st transfer and backing (В3) stops drove a back planetary number.

Муфта a free course №2 (F2) forbids rotation drove a back planetary number counter-clockwise.

Elements of a planetary distributing transmission:

Муфта a forward course (СЗ) connects a target shaft of a transmission to the satellite of a planetary number of a distributing transmission.

Муфта direct transfer (С4) connects a shaft of a drive of back wheels and a leading asterisk of chain transfer of a drive of forward wheels.

Муфта raising transfer (В4) stops rotation эпицикла a planetary number of a distributing box.

The device of a hydraulic part of a control system

Transmission

The hydraulic part of a control system consists of the oil pump, клапанной assemblages, electromagnetic valves, муфт and brakes, and also the channels connecting among themselves listed elements. Pressure of a working liquid created by the pump is used for management of frictional elements of transmission, hydrotransformer and greasing feed. In клапанной to assemblage three electromagnetic valves of switching are established. With their help the electronic block exercises administration of a gear change and hydrotransformer blocking.

Distributing box

Into structure of a hydraulic part of a control system of a distributing box enter: клапанная a box, the electromagnetic valve № 4, a brake (В4), two blocking муфты (СЗ, С4), and also the channels connecting among themselves listed elements. Box appointment - management of a planetary number which can be carried out or manually, or automatically electronic block.


Electric part of a control system (transmission of series F4А20)

The electric part operates a gear change in a transmission and a distributing box, and also blocking муфтой the hydrotransformer. It consists of three parts: gauges of speed of movement of the car (VSS), the gauge of position throttle заслонки (TPS) and the other information gauges tracing parametres of a condition of transmission and transferring managements given to the electronic block; the electronic block of management which on the basis of the analysis of data arriving to it defines the switching moments in a transmission and a distributing box, and also operates blocking муфтой the hydrotransformer; and the executive part consisting of four electromagnetic valves.
