Check of serviceability of functioning and service of systems of heating and air conditioning

Central air

Air central air constantly is under a high pressure. At all do not disconnect refrigerator lines and do not remove any components of system, preliminary not having executed a discharge of last. The discharge of a central air of air should be made by forces of the skilled expert in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop. At рассоединении refrigerator lines necessarily put on goggles!


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The control checks listed more low should be made on a regular basis for the purpose of maintenance of a central air of air in a serviceable condition:

a) Check up a condition of a belt of a drive of the compressor. In case of revealing of defects or deterioration signs make replacement (see the Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance);
b) Check up effort of a tension приводного a belt, in case of need make corresponding adjustment (see the Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance);
c) Check up hoses of a refrigerator path on presence of cracks, swellings, signs of hardening and rubber ageing, estimate a condition штуцерных connections. Defective components replace;
d) Check up plates of the heat exchanger of the condenser on presence of the remains which have got stuck between them of insects, old leaves and other dust. In case of need clean backlashes a thin brush, or blow their compressed air;
e) Check up level of a charge of system;
2. Air central air should join at least for 10 minutes not less often than once a month (even in a winter season). Long inactivity К/В leads to hardening and failure of sealing rings and cuffs of a connecting path.
3. Taking place leaks in a path in the best way are shown at increase in working parametres of system (temperature and pressure), - leave the conditioner included on 5-10 minutes at the working engine. Sources of leaks can be revealed on потекам oils.
4. In view of complexity of a design of system and necessity of use of the special equipment, its service, deep diagnostics and regenerative repair lay out of limits of qualification of the average mechanic-fan and should be made in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop. 5. If the system does not function at all, check up a condition of a corresponding safety lock and the relay.
6. The most typical cause of infringement of serviceability of functioning К/В is decrease in level of a charge of refrigerator oil. The elementary checks resulted more low will allow to reveal signs of decrease in level of a coolant quickly.


Check of level of a charge of a coolant

1. Warm up the engine to normal working temperature.
2. Include К/В on maximum хладопроизводительность. Choose the maximum high-speed mode of the fan. Open doors to avoid cyclic switching-off of system at cooling of the air volume closed in salon.
3. Operation муфты compressor K/V couplings is accompanied by distinctly heard click after which the central part муфты should start to rotate. After the system temperature will reach working value, feel two connected to the evaporator on a partition of an impellent compartment of a tube.

4. More thin tube going to the evaporator from the target union of the condenser, should be to the touch enough cold. The tube more thickly, going from the final union of the evaporator back to the compressor, should be a little more (on 2 ÷ 6 degrees) more coldly. If the final tube is to the touch much warmer inlet, hence, the system requires additional charge. Enter the thermometer into a target air line through central дефлектор on the panel of devices. At included К/В the temperature leaving of дефлектора air should be on 2 ÷ 4.5 degrees below an ambient temperature (up to value 4.5°С). In very hot weather (above +40°С), increase of target temperature to level 15.7 °С, but is admissible no more. If the conditioner does not provide demanded intensity of cooling of air, it is necessary to make system additional charge. For more detailed diagnostics of a condition of system the car should be driven away in a specialised workshop.

5. Glance in an observation port on a cover of assemblage of a receiver-dehumidifier, - foaming of a coolant in a receiver testifies to falling of its level. In hot weather bubbles in an observation port can be present even at normal level of a working liquid, - after switching-off of system foaming should stop.


Coolant addition

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Since 1994 of a central air on all models have been translated from coolant R-12 on ecologically pure R-134a. In view of distinction of performance data coolants are not interchangeable. Besides, the design штуцерных knots and nozzles to баллончикам does not allow to fill casually in system oil not that type. At replacement of components in system it is necessary to add exactly such quantity of a coolant of a corresponding grade which has been lost at component removal. Before system refuelling attentively familiarise with printed on баллончике the instruction.

In many regions free sale of coolant R-12 can be forbidden and system refuelling should be made in the conditions of a specialised car repair shop. The coolant of type R-134a can be got practically in any shop automobile химикалиев.


1. Prepare standard зарядный set R-134a, - ask in shops of automobile accessories. The set structure includes баллончик with refrigerator oil in volume of 14 ounces (ounce), вентильная a nozzle and the piece of a hose connected between the gate and the service union низконапорной of a part of a refrigerator path. Зарядный the service union is usually included in big тюбинговую the line of a refrigerator path going to a partition of an impellent compartment. As one баллончика oils it can appear insufficiently for definitive gymnastics of system, it makes sense to buy just in case at once pair. Track, that at least in one of баллончиков oil has been tinted in red colour that will allow to reveal quickly leaks of a coolant in case of occurrence of those.

At all do not fill in system more than two баллончиков a coolant!

2. According to instructions of manufacturers connect зарядный a set to НИЗКОНАПОРНОЙ parts of a refrigerator path.
3. Close the gate on a transitive nozzle and screw last on a head баллончика, preliminary having made sure available a sealing ring / a rubber lining.

Necessarily put on goggles!


4. Remove a dustproof cap from the union низконапорной parts of a refrigerator path and connect to it equipped with a socket of fast joining a hose зарядного a set.

The design штуцерных knots will not allow to make set connection to высоконапорной a path part.


5. Warm up the engine to normal working temperature and include К/В. Track, that the hose зарядного a set did not adjoin to blades of the fan of system of cooling and other moving components in a motor compartment.
6. Rotation вентильной nozzles pierce a head баллончика, having opened thereby coolant giving (the characteristic sound of pulled out gas should be heard). In the course of all gymnastics hold баллончик strictly vertically, from time to time stirring up it. It is necessary to interrupt gymnastics, when temperatures of inlet and final tubes of the evaporator are compared. Between gymnastics series do a pause necessary for stabilisation of system.

At all закачивайте in system more than two баллончиков a coolant! In order to avoid an icing баллончика in the course of refuelling wrap up its towel moistened in warm water.

7. At presence near at hand the exact thermometer enter it in through дефлектор into central air line К/В and watch temperature of air submitted to salon.
8. When баллончик will become empty, block the gate and disconnect a hose from низконапорного the system union. At once put on the union a dustproof cap.
9. Disconnect from баллончика вентильную a nozzle, in case of need rearrange it on the second баллончик and continue refuelling. On termination of procedure put not finished баллончик vertically on a rack and as required use it for system additional charge.


Heating system

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If the heater does not provide due heating of air submitted to salon, the reason of such refusal one of the following can be:

a) the Thermostat is jammed in open position that does not allow submitted to heat up to the heat exchanger of a heater of a cooling liquid of the engine to normal temperature. Replace the thermostat (the Section Check of serviceability of functioning and the thermostat see);
b) passableness infringement охладительного a path that blocks giving of a cooling liquid in the heater heat exchanger Takes place. Feel the hoses connected to branch pipes on a back partition of an impellent compartment - both of them should be hot, otherwise passableness of a path is broken (hoses, the heat exchanger, or the managing director заслонка a heater) are blocked. Disconnect hoses and make обратнопоточную heat exchanger washing. Wash out also both hoses;
c) If to restore passableness of the heat exchanger by washing it is not possible, it is necessary to make its replacement (see Section Replacement of the electromotor of a drive of the fan of a heater).
2. If speed of rotation of the fan of a heater mismatches the chosen position of the corresponding switch on the system control panel, check up a condition of a safety lock, connecting electroconducting, the relay, the switch and resistive assemblage (the Section Replacement of the electromotor of a drive of the fan of a heater see).
3. If air exit through дефлекторы at all is absent, undertake following actions:

a) Include ignition and activate the heater fan. Press an ear to дефлектору and try to define on hearing, whether functions приводной the motor;
b) If the sounds confirming serviceability of functioning of the motor are absent, and resistive assemblage is perfectly in order, it is necessary to replace the motor (the Section Replacement of the electromotor of a drive of the fan of a heater see).
4. Humidifying of a carpet covering on a floor under the heater heat exchanger, or steam exit through дефлекторы air lines speak about heat exchanger leaks. Remove the heat exchanger (see Has undressed Removal and installation of the heat exchanger of a heater) and replace its new (the heater heat exchanger is not subject to regenerative repair).
5. Check up passableness of the drainage hose going from assemblage of a heater/evaporator and laid справой of the party of a partition. Blocking of the given hose can lead to an exit of steam from дефлекторов air lines at heater inclusion.


Elimination of smells of a central air of air

1. The unpleasant smells frequently arising at inclusion К/В are caused by formation of colonies of a mould on plates of the heat exchanger of the evaporator. The warm damp environment creates favorable conditions for occurrence and development of fungoid microorganisms.
2. Access to the evaporator heat exchanger on the majority of models is extremely limited. Procedure of the guaranteed full removal of the mould, carried out in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop is enough labour-consuming, takes away a lot of time and demands application of strong disinfectants. Basically, effective enough processing can be executed and in house conditions own forces of the owner of the car.
3. In the aerosol packaging, intended for service of central airs of air, it is possible to get special disinfectants practically in any shop of automobile accessories. It is necessary to remember, that the means price is usually directly proportional to its efficiency. Switch system in a mode of the closed air circulation and for ten minutes include the heater fan for the maximum speed. For the purpose of system drying include heating on the maximum intensity. Disconnect electroconducting from the compressor for the purpose of prevention of its operation.
4. Means giving is usually carried out through a long hose. Remove резисторную assemblage of the electromotor of a drive of the fan of a heater (the Section Replacement of the electromotor of a drive of the fan of a heater see), enter a nozzle of a submitting nozzle into the formed aperture and displace it to the left, having directed on the evaporator heat exchanger. Means giving is carried out according to instructions of its manufacturer. Try to process all surface of the heat exchanger as much as possible full. Duration of each operation cycle and intervals between series should be specified on a container label.
5. The best preventive measure against occurrence of colonies of a mould in the evaporator heat exchanger is regular check of passableness of a drainage tube, and also short-term inclusion of a mode of removal of a condensate after each distant trip with working conditioner for the purpose of evaporator drying.
