Models with the coil of ignition built in the distributor

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!


2. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) Disunite a contact socket of electroconducting of the distributor of ignition;
b) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between two plugs of a socket on the distributor case (on models 3.5 of l measurement is made between plugs 1 and 2 sockets);
c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.9 ÷ 1.2 Ohm: for l models 1.5, 1.8 l both 2.4 l and 0.5 ÷ 0.7 Ohm: for models 3.5;
d) If resistance in norm, hence, breakages and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the coil.

3 Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover;
b) the Second wire connect to the plug 1 or 2 sockets of the distributor.
c) Consider the indication of an ohmmeter and compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20 ÷ 29 clod: for l models 1.5, 1.8 l both 2.4 l and 9 ÷ 13 clod: for models 3.5;
d) If resistance in norm, hence, breakages and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the coil.


Models with separately established coil of ignition

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

2. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) Disunite a contact socket of electroconducting of the coil of ignition;
b) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between two plugs of a socket on the distributor case;
c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.9 ÷ 1.2 Ohm: for models 2.0 of l SOHC and 0.72 ÷ 0.88 Ohm: for models 3.0 of l SOHC);
d) If resistance in norm, hence, breakages and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the coil.

3. Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover;
b) the Second wire connect to the plug 1 or 2 sockets of the distributor.
c) Consider the indication of an ohmmeter and compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20 ÷ 29 clod: for models 2.0 SOHC l and 10.29 ÷ 13.92 clod: for models 3.0 of l SOHC);
d) If resistance in norm, hence, breakages and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the coil.


Replacement

Models with the coil of ignition built in the distributor

On the given models the coil is built in assemblage of the distributor of ignition (see more low).

Models with separately established coil of ignition

Details of installation and connection of the coil of ignition on models 3.0 of l SOHC

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation and connection of the coil of ignition in contactless system are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

3. Disconnect ВВ a wire from the ignition coil (pull for a plug tip, and at all for a wire!).
4. Disunite a contact socket of electroconducting of the coil.
5. Turn out fixing screws and remove assemblage of the coil of ignition from the engine.
6. Installation is made upside-down.


System of direct ignition (DIS)

Check

Engines of 1.6 l and 2.0 l DOHC of 1990 вып.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Disunite a contact socket of a bobbin plait.

3. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between plugs 4 and 2 sockets (for coils from cylinders №№ 1 and 4)/4 and 1 (for coils from cylinders 2 and 3);
b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.77 ÷ 0.95 Ohm).

4. Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Disconnect from the coil electroconducting;
b) Measure resistance between ВВ plugs of cylinders №№ 1 and 4 and №№ 2 and 3 accordingly;
c) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover;
d) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (10.3 ÷ 13.9 clod);

5. If the result at least one of measurements falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.


Engines of 2.0 l DOHC 1991 ÷ 1993 of вып.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Disunite a contact socket of a bobbin plait.

3. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between plugs 3 and 2 sockets (for coils from cylinders №№ 1 and 4)/3 and 1 (for coils from cylinders 2 and 3);
b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.70 ÷ 0.86 Ohm).

4. Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Disconnect from the coil electroconducting;
b) Measure resistance between ВВ plugs of cylinders №№ 1 and 4 and №№ 2 and 3 accordingly;
c) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover;
d) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (11.3 ÷ 15.3 clod).

5. If the result at least one of measurements falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.


Engines of 1.8 l 1997 ÷ 2000 of вып. And 2.4 l SOHC 1999 and 2000 of вып.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Make measurement of resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition;
b) the Second wire connect to the plug 1 or 2 sockets of the coil;
c) Consider the indication of an ohmmeter and compare result of measurement to standard requirements (9.4 ÷ 12.8 clod);
d) If resistance in norm, hence, breakages and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the coil.

Engines of 2.4 l DOHC

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!


2. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) Disconnect electroconducting from bobbin assemblage;
b) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between two plugs of a socket of the coil:
c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.74 ÷ 0.90 Ohm).

3. Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Mark and disconnect from bobbin assemblage candle wires;
b) Measure resistance of a secondary contour between plugs of each of separate bobbin modules;
c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20.1 ÷ 27.3 clod);

4. If the result at least one of measurements falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.

Engines of 2.4 l DOHC

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!


2. Make measurement of resistive resistance of a primary winding of the coil of ignition:

a) Disconnect electroconducting from bobbin assemblage;
b) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between corresponding plugs of sockets of coils (the plug 2 and 3 - for the module And; plugs 1 and 3 - for the module In and plugs 4 and 3 - for the module;
c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.67 ÷ 0.81 Ohm).

3. Further measure resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between corresponding plugs of sockets of coils (the plug 1 and 4 - for the module And; plugs 2 and 5 - for the module In and plugs 3 and 6 - for the module;
b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (11.3 ÷ 15.3 clod).

4. If the result at least one of measurements falls outside the limits an admissible range, replace corresponding bobbin assemblage

Replacement

Engines of 1.6 l, 2.0 l DOHC and 2.4 l DOHC

2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

3. Mark and disconnect from bobbin assemblage candle wires, - pull only for a tip, and at all for a wire!
4. Disconnect from the coil other electroconducting.
5. Turn out fixing screws and remove bobbin assemblage from the engine.
6. Installation is made upside-down.

Engines of 1.8 l 1997 ÷ 2000 of вып. And 2.4 l since 1999 вып.

1. Details of installation of components of system of ignition on the models equipped with engines of 1.8 l since 1997 вып. And 2.4 l DOHC since 1999 вып. Are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

3. Disconnect from the coil (ек) electroconducting.
4. Remove candle wires of corresponding cylinders.
5. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the corresponding coil from a head of cylinders.
6. Installation is made upside-down.

Engines of 3.0 l DOHC

Details of installation and connection of the coil of ignition on models 3.0 of l DOHC

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of components of system of ignition on the models equipped with engines of 3.0 l DOHC are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

3. Remove from the inlet pipeline the delivery chamber (the top section of the pipeline) (the Engine see the Head).
4. Mark and disconnect from bobbin assemblage candle wires, - pull only for a tip, and at all for a wire!
5. Disconnect from the coil other electroconducting.
6. Turn out fixing screws and remove bobbin assemblage from the engine.
7. Installation is made upside-down.
